My Girl

Let me introduce you to my girl. . . .

This is Gracen Ruth. . . . .

She is five today. FIVE. And without my permission, mind you.

Gracen loves to love people. She is insatiably affectionate, and thrives on interaction with others.

Her greatest love is anything mommy-ish. She is always the first to come help in the kitchen, and can peel garlic almost as fast as I can these days. She loves to play with babies and hug on her baby brother, even though he is a boy.

Gracen lives in a world of pink dresses and glass slippers. However, living in a house full of boys has made her strong and fearless, and she has been known to dive headfirst into a wrestling match of all boys, in a snow white dress and mismatched plastic heels.

She is a joy to have in our house, and I pray that God would grow her into a lovely young woman whose affections are turned Heavenward. I am excited to see what God has in store for this bursting bundle of beautiful girlhood!

Nov. 2010 J: Mom, can I read you a chapter from the Bible? Me: Yeah, sure. J: A record of the geneology of Jesus Christ the son of David, the son of Abraham. . . . . (on and on for almost eternity, but not quite, and yes, I mean the whole thing). . . .that was a long one, huh, mom? Me: Yep.

Nov 2010 D: I'm three, and on my birthday I'm going to be four, and then five and then six and then seven and then eight, and then nine, and then ten and THEN ELEVEN. Pause. And eleven is really just one and one so, that makes two, and I'm already three, and on my birthday I'm going to be four. . . . .
