"It" is a gift of God

So, you ask. . . "what is the gift"? I know you're asking, I can see it on your face.

Well, since you asked. Here is the verse. You all know it, but I will remind you. . .

Ephesians 2:8-9:

⁸For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

⁹Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Well, Sunday, I discovered that the gift is faith. Ha!! 31 years of good little sunday school lessons, and I discover that the gift is not grace. Well, not in this verse. Grace certainly is a gift as well. But, in this verse the gift is faith. The faith to accept that grace which saves. We don't even have enough worth to initiate the faith. It has to be given to us! WOW, the implications of that verse!

Do you ever have lightbulb moments? Well that was my most recent one. They come fewer and fewer these days, I've noticed.
