Childhood Joy

These are the snowflakes of last week that we can blame for the croup and pneumonia of this week. . . . ah, the momentary joy. . . ah, the sleepless nights. . . the fevers. . . the coughs. . . the weepy eyes and aching bodies. . . ah, the bitterness that ebbs from the hearts of all parents everywhere . . . . We are buying them a bubble for Christmas. I'll post pictures, I'm sure it will be cute.

Nov 2010 D: I'm three, and on my birthday I'm going to be four, and then five and then six and then seven and then eight, and then nine, and then ten and THEN ELEVEN. Pause. And eleven is really just one and one so, that makes two, and I'm already three, and on my birthday I'm going to be four. . . . .
